The original building was designed and built between 1880 and 1882 by wealthy tobacco merchant Henrik Scholssberger based on the plans of the famous Hungarian architect Adolf Feszty. During the past century the building housed several institutions such as banks, pension insurance company and the first movie theatre in Budapest. Hotel plans aroused in 2013 resulting today in a stunningly beautiful 99-room 4-star hotel.
